Check-list for the handball championship
- Take account of the Union’s General Regulations, the Handball Regulations and also the Guidelines for the organisation of Union SCIPT championships.
- Reservation of hall.
- Determine and communicate to the participating delegations:
- the type of floor-surface of the hall.
- the restrictions on the use of shoes
- number of balls available for each team (training)
- Ask Union Members for the main colours of their team strip, first and second choice: shirts, pants and socks.
- Request medals and the Flag of the Union from the Secretary General (Organiser to engrave or put a self-adhesive label on the medals).
- Establish the matches by seeds/drawing of lots in cooperation with the Secretary General
- Prepare a training timetable for the teams.
- Ensure that a sufficient number of balls (licensed by the IHF) are available for the matches.
- Set up an office for the direction of the tournament (table, chairs, tournament schedule and stationery).
- Ensure that the public address system functions well.
- Appoint an announcer who is conversant with the languages and the sport.
- Ensure the collaboration of the required number of referees and also of a principal adjudicator-referee.
- Establish a detailed timetable and assign the matches.
- Assign and mark the players’ changing rooms.
- Designate the area for warming-up sessions.
- Ensure that a first-aid post and medical facilities are available.
- Prepare and update a scoreboard and results list for the benefit of players and spectators.
- Make beverages available for the players.
- Make a meeting room available for the team leaders’ meeting.
- Ensure that the national flags of participating Union Members are in place and their national anthems are prepared.
- Plan in detail, together with the official delegate, the opening and closing ceremonies.
- Prepare a podium for the prize-giving ceremony and decide on the procedure to be adopted in the presentation of medals.
- Ensure that the results list is issued promptly.
