Union SCIPT Photography competition regulations - InterphotexpoThese regulations were revised on the 22nd of February 2011, and approved by the General Assembly in Basle on the 27th of May, 2011. Section IArticle 1
Article 2The Board shall decide the duration and the frequency of this event. The total duration of any event shall not exceed twelve months. Section II: OrganisationArticle 3An invitation shall be sent to members soliciting their participation in the event either submitting photographic entries and/or by hosting the exhibition in their country. Article 4The schedule of the exhibition will be communicated to all participants. The schedule will take into account the time required for setting up and dismantling the exhibits and also their transit from each location to the next. Article 5Participating members shall submit to the Board the photographers' lists of entries with which they will participate in the event. Each list will be drawn up by the photographer himself in order to avoid errors of interpretation. Photographs may only be entered once in any Union SCIPT INTERPHOTEXPO. Themes Article 7Format Article 8Identification a) PHOTOGRAPHER: MEMBER OF THE UNION NOTE: This information must be filled in on the entry form by the photographers c) PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR "Union SCIPT INTERPHOTEXPO" These requirements apply to Article 5. Article 9For the presentation of the exhibition, each photograph will be presented with its title in three languages, if the language of the country of origin is different from French or English. This should be written on the entry form (*). (see Article 8a) At each exhibition, the exhibited photographs will be labeled on the back to indicate the date and place of the exhibition. Information on the photographer will be shown in accordance with the details which he has submitted (see Article 8a) Article 10The members organizing an exhibition may refrain from exhibiting entries which do not conform to the criteria set out in Articles 6, 7 and 8. Article 11A catalogue will be prepared by the Secretary General and the format will be in the same form as the linguistic presentations shown at Article 8. At the beginning of the exhibition, a copy of the catalogue will be sent to each participating member. Copies will also be sent to members who have participating photographers and the number of copies supplied will be three more than the number of photographers taking part. The participating members will distribute a copy of the catalogue to the photographers of their organisation who have submitted entries. Article 12a) Competition Union SCIPT INTERPHOTEXPO is open to amateur photographers eligible to participate in terms of Article 2.3.1 of the General Regulations of the Union. In each of the countries that exhibit the photos of the Union SCIPT INTERPHOTEXPO a jury will classify the best six entries of the competition. Points, from 6 to 1, will be allocated starting from the photograph that is considered to be the best; the best gets 6 points, the next 5 points etc. Entries of photographers from the member organizing the exhibitions shall not be considered and therefore no points will be allocated. Union SCIPT INTERPHOTEXPO shall in every case be launched at a meeting/event of the Union and will thereafter be hosted in each participating member’s country. b) Professional jury The jury will be composed of at least three persons of which one or more shall be photographic specialists. c) Popular jury During each Union SCIPT event or General Assembly/Congress participants and accompanying persons may make their choices as mentioned in 12 a). d) Prizes At the end of the itinerary of the competition, the Board will proceed to assess the results of the juries to draw up the final prize list. This will be sent to all members who have entered exhibits. The first three exhibits (chosen by the Professional and the Popular Jury) will receive a medal. The medals will be presented during the first General Assembly subsequent to the publication of the final prize list, to the winners who are present, or in their absence to the delegate of their organisation. In the case that none of these persons are present the medals will be sent to the winners.
Article 13The members who participate in Union SCIPT INTERPHOTEXPO have a moral obligation to take the greatest care in the presentation of the photographs and security during the exhibition. Union SCIPT, its Board and members disclaim responsibility for any damages, losses or other accidents.
