At the Congress in Otepaa earlier this year, it was agreed that the General Assembly of Union SCIPT 2010 will be organised by the Hellenic Cultural Centre of Telecommunications Employees in Patras, Greece between 27th and 30th May, 2010.

The Union SCIPT basketball championship will take place in Luxembourg from Saturday 22nd to Monday 24th of May 2010.

There is a new organisation in Sweden Post this year. The name is Personal Stiftelsen Posten Fritid.

I regret to inform you that the Board has still not received any offers for the organisation of the events, beyond those already confirmed previously.

The 4th Union SCIPT Open Air Painting took place in Santarém,the Capital of gotic architecture in Portugal, from 21st to 27th September.

The Cyclo gathering was held in Nancy – Meurthe & Moselle - France, from Friday June 19 afternoon, with reception of the participants and handing-over of the files, until Sunday June 21 after the lunch.

The Ski Commission of Sport & Culture Assiciation Post Suisse invite Union Members to take part in the 54th edition of ski of the Post in Lenk. The event is like an exchange in which participants from Union SCIPT Members can take part.

Poland Post will hereby inform Union Members about their 2 Holiday Centres.

The Tennis Championships were a great success and were closed Sunday 13th September.

The Tennis just started this morning with speeches of the chairman of tennisclub De Kieviten (Flip Sonnevelt), Board member PVKPN Hans Lindt and last but not least Rui Alves Cabaço, Vice president of Union SCIPT and official delegate.

The Organiser, PVKPN, The NetherlandsTelecom, wish the delegations welcome.

At the moment 50 players are entered from 8 Union Members.

The Board has still not received any offers for the organisation of the events, beyond those already confirmed previously.

Belgium Posts are the new Union SCIPT Football Champions. The finals took place in Malta/Gozo last week-end.

The Sport and Tourism Committee of Poczta Polka, Logistics Regional Center in Olsztyn and The Independent and Self-Governing Trade Union Solidarność organised the 10th International Yachting Championship from 4th to 7th June.

The preliminary entry for the Tennis Championships is Friday 12th June. The organiser has also an information concerning the number of players etc.

The minutes from the General Assembly is now published.

The Interphotexpo 2009 - 2010 were opened during the General Assembly in Otepää.

The Board proposed that in certain events, for example, Cross-County, Ski, Handball, the Union SCIPT event should be organised together with a national event organised by a particular member of the Union as part of their own calendar.

Board proposed that from 2010 the subscription should be increased nominally by € 25,00.

The Board will refocus its attention on items that carry a high cost within the Union’s Balance Sheet and propose ways of how these costs can be reduced.

According to results of the working shop held in Slovenia in 2008, the Board proposed a new event.

The General Assembly 2009 were opened by President John Saliba at 09h15 Friday 29th May.

Bjørg Moen, Norway Post, a familiar face during many years in Union SCIPT, was appointed as a member of Honor during the 2009 General Assembly.

Leszeck was appointed as Honored Member during the General Assembly in Otepää.

It is customary at the General Assembly to honour some of our fellow delegates for their contribution to the Union.

In connection with the yearly General Assembly, the Board presents an updated review of the evolution of the Union SCIPTand its activities since the Inaugural Congress in Malta in 1992

In September 2009 the 11th Union SCIPT Tennis Championships will be organised by PVKPN, Sports-, Culture and Recreation of KPN Telecom The Netherlands.

The Annaul Report 2008 and document concerning the forthcoming General Assembly are now on the site.

By the date limit for the final entry still a lot of Union Members have to confirm their participation.

It was a thrilling final between Telecom Poland - Team B and Norway Post and the norwegians won by the smallest margin possible.

The deadline of final inscription for the event is fixed to Friday 20th March 2009.

The Open-Air Painting encounter is one of the cultural highlights of Union SCIPT and it is an occasion where painters from the different organisations can meet to share their passion for art, discuss techniques and make new friends. Past events have always proved to be very popular and we hope that this year’s encounter will prove to be a success.

The General Assembly of Union SCIPT 2009 will take place in Otepää, Estonia, between 28th and 31st May.
